When Jane and Michael, the children of the wealthy and uptight Banks family, are faced with the prospect of a new nanny, they are pleasantly surprised by the arrival of the magical Mary Poppins. Embarking on a series of fantastical adventures with Mary and her Cockney performer friend, Bert, the siblings meet a unique cast of characters on the streets of London and attempt to pass on some of their nanny's sunny attitude to their preoccupied parents. Will the "Spirit of Childhood" return to Mr. Banks to help him remember what's truly important in life?

We hope you'll join us in the excitement of this season and congratulate all of our hard working dancers on their assigned roles. We encourage you to read and watch the various versions of Mary Poppins with your child(ren) to help them better understand the story they'll be telling. As with every NESD production, you'll find that some of our staged roles are unique to our retelling, but based on an important element or theme our artistic director has chosen to include or accentuate.
