The Nutcracker

A Beloved NESD&T Holiday Tradition

Experience the magic of the holiday season as our dancers bring this timeless story to life on stage.

Each year, NESD&T ballet students take the stage in our magical holiday production of The Nutcracker, bringing together dancers from our Primary through Advanced ballet levels, talented local New Hampshire performers, and professional guest artists.

More than a performance, The Nutcracker gives our students the opportunity to experience the excitement of a full theatrical production / ballet. They will learn choreography, develop stage presence, work as an ensemble, and create memories with their fellow dancers that they'll cherish for years to come.

Ages 5-6 - 10:00-10:30am

Ages 7-10 - 11:00-12:00pm

Ages 11 & Up - 1:30-2:30pm

A Role for Every Dancer

Our Nutcracker experience is designed to give dancers at different ages and levels meaningful opportunities to participate.

Primary & Elementary
Students learn and perform a class piece as part of their weekly ballet classes. They are also welcome to audition for special featured roles.

Intermediate & Advanced
Ballet students are expected to participate in the audition process, as a class piece is not guaranteed at these levels. Dancers may be considered for class pieces and special featured roles through the audition and casting process.

More Than a Performance

Being part of The Nutcracker gives students an experience that extends far beyond learning choreography.

Through rehearsals and performance, dancers develop confidence, discipline, teamwork, stage presence, and a deeper appreciation for the performing arts. They learn what it means to work toward a shared goal and see their hard work come together on stage.

And perhaps most importantly, they make memories with friends, teachers, and fellow dancers that become part of their own NESD&T story.
