About

Our Pre-Intermediate Dance Program is designed for dancers who are ready to expand their training while building on strong technical foundations. Students develop greater strength, coordination, musicality, flexibility, and artistry while exploring a variety of dance styles.

Through age-appropriate instruction and progressive training, dancers are encouraged to set personal goals, build confidence, and embrace new challenges in a supportive environment.

Skills They Will Develop

  • Stronger technical execution across multiple styles

  • Increased strength, flexibility & control

  • Musicality, artistry & performance quality

  • More complex choreography and combinations

  • Confidence, discipline & personal responsibility

  • Goal setting & perseverance

  • Pointe readiness through ballet training, when appropriate

What To Expect

Pre-Intermediate dancers are encouraged to take greater ownership of their training while continuing to develop strong technical and performance skills. Classes become more challenging as dancers learn to apply technique, artistry, and performance quality with greater independence.

This level serves as an important stepping stone toward Intermediate and Advanced training, preparing dancers for the technical and artistic expectations of higher-level classes.

Performance Opportunities

Pre-Intermediate students have opportunities to perform throughout the year, including our annual Nutcracker and Spring performances.

Dancers looking for an additional challenge may also audition for Performing Company, our competitive dance team. Company members train and perform together while developing technique, teamwork, confidence, commitment, and performance skills.

An optional opportunity for dancers ready to take their training and performance experience a step further.
