About

Our Elementary Dance Program builds on the foundations developed in the Primary years while introducing more focused technical training. Through ballet and a variety of dance styles, students develop strength, coordination, musicality, and performance skills in a positive and encouraging environment.

Dancers are challenged to grow as both students and performers while developing focus, discipline, creativity, and a love of dance.

Performance Opportunities

Elementary dancers have opportunities to perform throughout the year, including our annual Nutcracker and Spring performances.

For dancers who are ready to take their training and performance experience further, Performing Company offers an opportunity to participate in a more focused, team-oriented competitive dance experience. Company dancers train together, perform in group routines, and develop greater commitment, confidence, teamwork, and performance skills.

Performing Company placement is by audition and is designed for dancers who are ready for the additional training and commitment of a competitive team.

Skills They Will Develop

  • Ballet technique & terminology

  • Proper posture, alignment & body awareness

  • Coordination, balance & flexibility

What To Expect

Elementary dancers begin to take greater ownership of their training. Classes introduce more complex movement and combinations while continuing to reinforce strong technical foundations.

Teachers encourage students to work hard, try new things, and develop confidence as they grow into more independent dancers.
